Deactivating the seat belt tensioner (BMW 5 Series E39)

Remove the front seat.

Seat with manual adjustment: deactivate the seat belt tensioner. To do this, turn the screw "1" 90° to the left (place vertically in relation to the plane of the seat) and with an upward movement detach the Bowden rod "2" from the counter support and the drive lever.

Electrically adjustable seat: deactivate the seat belt tensioner. To do this, turn the slotted head screw "2" so that the green mark in the viewing window "3" changes to red. 1 - Bowden rod.

Note: The system is activated when the Bowden rod is connected to the seat and the green mark is visible in the viewing window.
