Attention: If there is an electric drive for seat adjustment and a malfunction occurs in the drive, proceed in accordance with the instructions given at the end of the chapter.
Withdrawal
Move the seat to its highest position using the seat height adjustment mechanism. Move the seat all the way forward.
Remove the seat belt mounting bolt.
Loosen stopper -1- towards rear and pull it outward. Press the Bowden link -2- forward to adjust the height of the seat belt.
Unscrew trims upwards from the inside -1-, to do this release the tabs of the clips, lift up in the middle -2- and remove towards the rear -3-.
Disconnect plug -1- and disconnect -2-.
Loosen the rear mounting screws.
Move the seat all the way back.
In the presence of an electric drive: A - unfasten and fold forward the cover, B - unfasten -1- and disconnect -2- plug.
Remove front bolts.
Pull the front seat out of the car.
Attention: If the seat is transported, dismantled or removed for a long time, the seat belt pretensioner must be deactivated, see p. 144.
Installation
Insert and align the seat. Attention: The floor covering in the area of the fastening bolts must not fall between the seat rails and the floor, as this can then lead to scratching noises.
Screw the seat with new bolts, first at the rear, then at the front. Do not tighten bolts. Caution If the old bolts are used again, their threads must first be treated with an anti-twisting agent, e.g. Loctite 270.
Tighten the fastening bolts to a torque of 40 Nm in the following sequence: front inner, front outer, rear inner and rear outer.
Electric seat adjustment: move the seat all the way back. Connect and secure the plug. Install cover.
Connect and lock the multi-pin connector.
Attach the pads
Attach and lock the Bowden link of the height adjustment mechanism.
Tighten the lower seat belt mounting bolt to 50 Nm.
Actions in the event of a defect in the electric drive for moving the seat in the longitudinal direction
Remove trim from inner seat rail.
Move the seat up by tilting the seat.
If equipped, disconnect the hose from the pump, giving the backrest a comfortable position for the spine.
Loosen the 2 bolts at the front of the seat rail and fold the front seat back.
Unscrew the 2 bolts securing the seat drive actuator in the longitudinal direction and remove the actuator.
Operate the seat forward control switch.
If the actuator does not work: install and operate a new actuator. If the replacement is carried out, then the drive is in order and you only need to replace the actuator.
If the actuator works but the seat does not move: the actuator is defective and must be replaced.
Disconnect plug connector longitudinally for seat drive.
Use large wire cutters to cut through the connecting shaft.
Loosen the 2 nuts and remove the drive on the left and right. The seat can then be moved manually.
Screw seat rails at front to seat frame (for removal only).
Remove seat and replace tires.
