Removal and installation the rear window wiper shaft bearing (Touring) (BMW 5 Series E39)

Application: special tool BMW-611320 is required for installation.

Removal

Remove the rear window wiper arm, see next chapter.

Loosen the nut on the electric motor axle.



Remove the cover.

On the right side, unscrew the bolt - black arrow - securing the cover and remove the cover.



Unscrew 2 bolts "2" and remove the wiper shaft bearing.

Installation

Tighten both bolts "2". Then loosen bolt "1" so that the end stop is movable.

Adjusting the axle bearing relative to the electric motor

Place the pad with locking brackets "1" on the spikes "2".





Place the special tool BMW-611320 on the drive disk of the electric motor.

Carefully close the rear window until the drive lever is locked into the end stop using the device.

After this, open the rear window again and bolt "1" (see fig. W-6075) tighten to 10 Nm.
