Removal and installation the rear window wiper arm (Touring) (BMW 5 Series E39)
Removal
Bring the windshield wiper lever to its original position. To do this, wet the rear window with water, briefly turn the windshield wiper on and off via the switch.
Mark the starting position of the windshield wiper by sticking adhesive tape to the window glass next to the blade.
Open the rear window and remove the bolt at the bottom of the windshield wiper trim.
Pull the trim out of the guide at a right angle to the window glass.

With the window open, set the windshield wiper arm to the vertical position. Using a small screwdriver, through the slot - black arrow - unfasten the protective cap.
Loosen the mounting nut and remove the windshield wiper arm.
Installation
In accordance with the mark applied to the glass, place the windshield wiper arm on the axle.
Screw on the fastening nut and tighten it to a torque of 13.5 Nm.
Subsequent installation is carried out in reverse order.
