Removal and installation the windshield wiper drive motor (BMW 5 Series E39)
Removal
Remove the windshield wiper drive.

Unscrew nut "5" securing crank "4" to the windshield wiper motor axle.
Unscrew the 3 bolts "6" securing the electric motor and remove it from the console.
Installation
Before installation, set the rotor of the electric motor to its original position. To do this, connect the multi-pin plug and turn on the electric motor. After this, turn off the electric motor via the windshield wiper switch so that the rotor returns to its original position. Disconnect the multi-pin plug.
Secure the electric motor to the console with bolts. Mount the crank so that it forms a single line with the windshield wiper rods. Tighten the crank mounting nut to 25 Nm.
Install the windshield wiper drive.
