Withdrawal
Mark the position of the brushes on the windshield with adhesive tape. To do this, stick a strip of adhesive tape to the glass directly next to the brush.
Remove the protective caps from the fastening nuts or wring them out with a small screwdriver.
Loosen nuts.
On the passenger side next to the driver, remove both windshield wiper rocker arms.
Attention: In doing so, do not bend the rocker arms. Danger of breakage! Remove the rocker arms from the support using a suitable puller, eg BMW-616000.
Remove the left wiper arm cover towards the top.
Loosen the nut at the support and remove the lever towards the top.
Remove the adjusting washer from the lever support. The washer is very tight and requires a suitable puller, eg BMW-616000, see drawing W-6050.
Remove the rubber seal from the front wall towards the top.
Loosen clamps -2- on air ducts -1- on left and right. Turn the air ducts towards the center of the vehicle, release from the bayonet fitting there and remove.
Remove the air fine filter element -3- on the left and right, see p. 202.
Pull out the wire clip -4- from the side, unfasten and remove the filter housing -3- from behind.
Remove fairing cover. To do this, release the 8 spacer clips in the following sequence: unscrew the spacer pins with a screwdriver and press the clips.
Unscrew cover for windscreen wiper drive.
Remove the wiring cover by first turning all the rotary levers by about 90°.
Unplug multi-pin connector and disconnect. To do this, slide the locking latch down, so that the plug comes off the pins.
Unscrew 5 mounting bolts and remove the drive (console) wiper.
Installation
Attach the windshield wiper drive and tighten the fastening bolts firmly by hand. In doing so, align the drive without stressing it.
Tighten the drive mounting bolts in the sequence from 1 to 5 to a torque of 10 Nm.
Press on the multi-pin plug, move the clamp from the side and thereby push the plug onto the contact pins.
Attach the wire cover and secure by turning the four rotary levers.
Screw on the wiper drive cover.
Attach the fairing cover, press in the spacer clips and screw in the plastic spacer screws.
Hang the fine air filter housing and secure with wire clamps.
Install fine air filters glory and right.
Insert the air duct into the bayonet fitting and fasten it by turning it outwards. At the end of the turning movement, first lead the air duct under the fine air filter, and then secure it with a clamp. Move the air duct in different directions and make sure that its fastening is strong. Install the second duct in the same way.
Put the rubber seal on the front machine.
Fit the shim onto the left wiper arm support. Put on the lever and align it relative to the windshield in accordance with the queens applied before removal. Ensure that the installation angle of the wiper blade in relation to the window pane is approximately 90°, otherwise reposition the lever on the shim. Tighten lever and shim mounting to 40 Nm.
Install the left wiper arm cover.
Fit both rocker arms on the right wiper arm.
Tighten the fastening nuts to a torque of 25 Nm, and after about 15 minutes tighten again to a torque of 25 Nm.
Install protective caps on the fastening nuts.
