- starting difficulties;
- the engine loses the speed of the crankshaft;
- vibrations are noticeable at idle;
- bumps during acceleration.
Test prerequisite: The engine is cold or warm to the touch.
Start the engine and, with the engine running, plug the exhaust pipe with a rag or plug. Listen with a helper to the exhaust system for exhaust leaks (whistling noises, gas leaks felt by hand).
Spray the cylinder head/exhaust manifold and exhaust manifold/front exhaust pipe connections with standard Leck-Sucher leak finder and examine for blistering.
Eliminate leakage.
