Removal


Remove the air mass flow meter. To do this, turn the knurled nut "3" to the left and disconnect the plug. Release the air hose clamp "1". Using a screwdriver, press both clamps "2" outward.

Loosen bolt "1" and pull the air filter housing out of the intake funnel "2" and rubber support "3".

Loosen bolt «1» and pull the air filter housing out of the intake funnel «2» and rubber support «3».


Unscrew the fastening of the compensation tank "arrows" and remove it from the air filter housing.



Installation



Air filter for models 520i, 523i, 528i:

Air filter for models 520i, 523i, 528i:
1 - expansion tank
2 - filter housing
3 - rubber support
4 - inlet funnel
5 - clamp
6 - clamp
7 - sealing ring
8 - replaceable filter element
9 - holding frame


Screw on the expansion tank.

Insert the air filter housing with the lower rubber support into the receiver, while connecting the intake funnel to the wing. Tighten the mounting bolt.

Insert the air flow meter with a new sealing ring and secure it with clamps.

Attach the hose going to the intake manifold to the mass air flow meter and secure it with a clamp.

Connect the mass air flow meter plug and secure the plug by turning the knurled nut to the right.
