Removal


Turn the knurled nut on the air flow meter connector to the left and remove. Loosen the air hose clamp. The illustration shows the air filter of the 320i, 325i, 328i models.

Loosen the nuts "1" of the rubber supports and pull out the air filter housing together with the air flow meter.

320i, 325i, 328i models: Remove the intake air/coolant thermostat bolt from the bottom of the air cleaner box and remove the sensor. Note: The thermostat regulates the coolant flow to heat the throttle body based on intake air temperature.

Installation



If removed, insert the intake air temperature sensor with a new O-ring and screw it on.

If removed, insert the intake air temperature sensor with a new O-ring and screw it on.


Place the air filter housing on the rubber support "6". The figure shows the air filter of models 316i, 318i.



Tighten bolts "8".

Install the intake funnel "13".

Place the air hose on the body and secure with a clamp.

Connect the air flow meter connector and turn the knurled nut to the right.
