Removal and installation the air filter housing / air flow meter (BMW 5 Series E34)

Removal (see figure W - 1075)



Loosen clamp 1, disconnect the air hose from the "arrow" mount on the air filter housing and pull it out.

Cut the loops securing the water hose 2 to the air filter housing.

Disconnect connector 3 of the air flow meter. On models produced since May 1990. (m³0 engine) first turn the connector to the left and then disconnect.

Loosen clamp 1 and disconnect the hose.

Loosen the nuts of the 2 rubber supports and pull the air filter housing upwards together with the air flow meter.

Installation



Insert the air filter housing into the rubber supports and screw it on

Connect the air hose to the body and secure it with a clamp.

Secure the water hose to the air filter housing with the fastening loops



Connect the air flow meter connector.

Connect the generator air hose and secure with a clamp.

Removal


Loosen nut 1.

Loosen clamp 2 with a 7 mm wrench or screwdriver and move it back.

Disconnect air hose 3 from air filter 4.

Remove the air filter from the studs and pull it upward.

Installation



Installation


Insert the air filter from below into 2 rubber supports, connect from above and secure with a nut.

Connect the air hose and secure with a clamp.
