Upper Steering Column Trim — Removal and Installation (BMW 7 Series E32)
Removal
Tilt the steering column all the way down.

Unscrew the screw (arrow).
Press the upper steering column trim inward at the locations shown by the arrows and pull it upward.

Unhook the top part and take it out.

Installation
If necessary, replace the upper mounting bolt spacer nut.
Place the top part and secure it by inserting the hooks (1) into the recesses (2).

Press the top part down from the steering wheel side and insert it into the bottom part from the side.
Secure the top with screws.
