Removal
Mark the position of the front wheel on the hub so that you can later install the balanced wheel in its original position. Loosen the wheel bolts with the car on the ground. Raise and support the car forward and remove the front wheel.
Remove the steering rod joint nut from the steering knuckle.

Press down on the tie rod end with a suitable puller.

Loosen the cover clamp and slide the cover back.
Push the steering rack in as far as it will go.
Unscrew the steering rod (arrow).

Installation
Measure the length of the old tie rod. Screw the end of the new tie rod onto the new tie rod so that the old tie rod length is obtained. Secure the tie rod end with a lock nut.
Tighten the tie rod end lock nut to 45 Nm.
If necessary, clean the steering rod joint pin and its socket on the steering knuckle from grease.
Check the steering tie rod boot and replace it if necessary.
Tighten the steering rod on the steering rack to a torque of 70 Nm.
Place the steering rod boot on and secure it with new clamps.
Then make sure that it is not twisted.
Insert the tie rod end into the steering knuckle and tighten the new self-locking nut to 65 Nm.
Install the front wheel according to the marks made earlier. Do not lubricate the wheel bolts.
Lower the vehicle. Tighten the wheel bolts crosswise to 100 Nm.
Adjust the wheel alignment.
