Tie Rod Ends — Removal and Installation (BMW 7 Series E32)
Removal
Mark the position of the front wheel on the hub so that you can later install the balanced wheel in its original position. Loosen the wheel bolts with the car on the ground. Raise and support the car in front with stands and remove the front wheel.
Loosen the tie rod end lock nut.
Loosen the steering rod joint nut on the steering knuckle.

Press down on the tie rod end with a suitable puller.
Unscrew the tie rod end while holding the tie rod with an open-end wrench by the Allen key.

Note: When unscrewing, count the number of turns to facilitate correct alignment later. Please note that the left and right steering rods have left and right threads, respectively.
Installation
Tighten the tie rod end by the same number of turns as when loosening it.
Tighten the tie rod end lock nut to 45 Nm.
Insert the tie rod end into the steering knuckle and tighten the new tie rod end self-locking nut to 65 Nm.
Install the front wheel in accordance with the marks made earlier. Do not lubricate the wheel bolts. Lower the car, tighten the wheel bolts crosswise to 100 Nm. Adjust the wheel alignment.
