Replacing the needle bearing (BMW 3 Series E21)

Use a puller to press the bearing out of the crankshaft flange seat.

Thoroughly clean and blow out the bearing seat in the crankshaft flange with compressed air.

Fill the new bearing with universal grease and press it with a mandrel into the crankshaft flange seat, ensuring a clearance "A" of 3 mm (see picture) between the ends of the bearing and the flange.
