Replacing the release bearing and clutch release fork (BMW 7 Series E38)

1. Remove the manual transmission (see Removal and installation of manual transmission).

2. Remove the clutch release sleeve (1).

4. Lightly lubricate the sliding surfaces of the clutch release fork (1 and 2).

Do not lubricate the guide bushing, otherwise the release bearing may jam on it.


7. Installation is carried out in reverse order.

On the S6S 420G manual transmission, the spring clip and pin must be replaced.
