Removal and installation speakers (BMW 3 Series E36)

Removal

Disconnect the ground wire from the battery.

Caution: When the battery is disconnected, the information in the electronic memory devices is erased, such as the engine fault memory or the radio security code memory. Disconnect the battery only with the ignition off, so as not to damage the fuel injection system control unit. When disconnecting the battery, follow the instructions in the "Radio" and "Removing and installing the battery" sections.

Note: On vehicles with a six-cylinder engine, the battery is located in the luggage compartment on the right side next to the spare wheel.

Loudspeakers in the footwell: Turn the locks 90°. Remove the side trims. Unscrew the loudspeaker and disconnect the connector.



Door Speaker: Remove the inner door trim.

Unscrew the loudspeaker "1".



Rear shelf speakers: Carefully remove speaker grille "1".



Unscrew 2 screws of the bottom cover "2".

Remove the 2 speaker screws and disconnect the connector.

Installation

Connect the speaker connector. Screw the speaker on.

Install the cladding and secure with locks or screws.

Install the interior door trim.

Install the speaker grille.

Connect the ground wire to the battery.

Attention: Connect the battery with the ignition off, otherwise the electronic control unit of the injection device may be damaged.

Set the time on the clock.

Set the radio receiver security code, see the section "Setting the radio receiver code".
