Initializing remote control (BMW 3 Series E46)

A single lock remote control must be installed if the batteries in the key have been changed and the change lasted more than one minute or if a key was pressed during the change.

1. Enter the car and close the door.

2. Briefly turn the ignition key in the steering wheel lock to position 1 (max. 5 s) and then return it back again.



3. Remove the key, press and hold the "2" key. Briefly press the "1" key three times within 10 seconds. At the same time, continue to hold the "2" key.

4. Release key "2".

5. To confirm successful installation, briefly turn on the electric motors of the single lock twice.
