Installation of remote radio control (BMW 5 Series E39)

Installation of the remote radio control of the central locking system is carried out after replacing the batteries in the car key, if the replacement lasts more than one minute or if any button on the key was pressed during the replacement. Replacing the batteries in the key is described in the section "Maintenance work".

Get into the car and close the driver's door.

Briefly turn the ignition key to position 1 (no more than 5 seconds) and return to the starting position again.



Remove the key from the ignition switch, press and hold button "2" Press button "1" three times in succession (within no more than 10 seconds). Button "2" must remain pressed.

Release button "2".

To confirm that the installation has been completed, the control unit must briefly switch on the actuator motors of the central locking system twice.
