Removal and installation the electric motor of the headlight beam angle adjustment system (BMW 5 Series E39)

Removal

Remove the headlight.



Remove the diffuser. To do this, slightly press the 5 plastic clips.



Using a screwdriver, slightly press the clamp between the turn signal lamp and the headlight, see also position "A" in Fig. W-5467.



Remove the sealing gaskets from the headlight assembly.



Press the headlight assembly away from the three spherical tips (two for manual adjustment "1" and one for adjusting the headlight beam angle) and pull it out. The sealing gaskets will slide out along with the headlight.



Disconnect plug "4".

Unscrew the "arrow" fastening and remove the electric motor "3" to adjust the angle of the headlight beam.

Installation

Insert and screw in the electric motor to adjust the angle of the headlight beam.

Connect the plug connector.

Place the headlight assembly, tighten the gaskets and place the assembly on the 3 spherical tips.

Place the sealing gaskets on the headlight assembly.

Insert and secure the diffuser.

Install the headlight and adjust.
