Removal and installation the temperature sensor (BMW 5 Series E39)
Removal
The sensor for the ambient temperature gauge is located in the trim on the right under the front bumper.

Pull temperature sensor "1" downwards from both plastic holders.
Disconnect plug "3" by pressing the locking mechanism with your fingers.
Installation
Connect and secure the plug.
Secure the temperature sensor in the holders.
