Removal and installation the control unit (BMW 3 Series E30)
The control unit is located behind the trim in the glove compartment.
Disconnect the ground wire from the battery.
Open the glove compartment and remove your fingers from both loops.
Unscrew the trim "F". Turn the rear screw "E" 90° to the left and unscrew the front screws (arrows). Then release the right side of the trim and remove the trim.
Disconnect the "G" connector.
Press the retaining clip "I" and disconnect the multi-pin connector "H".
Remove control unit "J".
Insert and screw the control unit.
Connect and snap the multi-pin connector into place.
Connect connector -G13.
Insert fingers into loops.
Install the trim and tighten the trim screws.
Connect the ground wire to the battery.
Check the idle speed (see section "Checking the idle speed and CO content").

Removal
Disconnect the ground wire from the battery.
Open the glove compartment and remove your fingers from both loops.

Unscrew the trim "F". Turn the rear screw "E" 90° to the left and unscrew the front screws (arrows). Then release the right side of the trim and remove the trim.

Disconnect the "G" connector.
Press the retaining clip "I" and disconnect the multi-pin connector "H".
Remove control unit "J".
Installation
Insert and screw the control unit.
Connect and snap the multi-pin connector into place.
Connect connector -G13.
Insert fingers into loops.
Install the trim and tighten the trim screws.
Connect the ground wire to the battery.
Check the idle speed (see section "Checking the idle speed and CO content").
