The thermal time switch limits the injection time of the starting valve depending on the engine temperature.
Withdrawal
Disconnect the start valve connector.
Disconnect the fuel hose from the starting valve, after releasing the fastening clamp.
Attention: If the valve is removed only for inspection, the electrical wire and hose remain connected.
Remove the 2 nuts and pull the start valve out of the intake manifold.
Examination
Connect the start valve connector, the fuel hose is connected.
Disconnect the thermal switch connector.
Connect the black-red wire of the thermal time switch to ground.
Caution: Do not ground the black/yellow wire. Risk of short circuit!
Place a beaker under the start valve.
Disconnect the connector of the switching unit of the transistorized ignition system so that the engine cannot be started.
Briefly turn on the starter. The starting valve must provide fuel injection with a uniform cone.
Within a minute, not a single drop of fuel should appear from the starting valve. The outside of the valve must not be wet.
Installation
Fit the start valve with a new gasket and secure it with 2 nuts.
Connect the connectors of the thermal time switch and the transistor ignition switching unit.
If the fuel hose was removed, connect it to the start valve and secure with a clamp. Connect connector.
