Headlight adjustment (BMW 3 Series E46)

            0

Correct headlight adjustment is of great importance for traffic safety. Accurate headlight adjustment is only possible with the use of a special device. Therefore, here it is only shown where the headlights can be adjusted and what conditions must be met for correct adjustment.

1. The air pressure in the tires must correspond to the set value.

2. An unloaded vehicle must have a load weighing 75 kg in the driver's seat.

3. Fill the fuel tank at least 90%.

4. Place the vehicle on a level surface.

5. Press down hard on the front of the car several times to get the suspension into its working position.

6. Set the headlight range controller to "0".

For vehicles with xenon low beam lamps (additional equipment) after turning on the light, wait at least 30 seconds for the automatic adjustment of the light range to be adjusted.

7. Headlights may only be adjusted on low beam. The beam angle for normal headlights is 10 cm per 10 m of length.

2 - adjusting screw for adjustment mainly horizontally

8. Adjust the headlights by turning the adjusting screws "1" and/or "2".

The illustration shows the left headlight, the right headlight has mirror-image adjustment screws. When turning the adjustment screw, the beam of light always moves vertically and horizontally. Unidirectional arrangement of the adjustment screws is impossible.

The beam angle for the fog lamp is 20 cm per 10 m of length.
