Adjusting the engine idle speed of the «Kugelfischer» system (BMW 5 Series E12)

Idle speed adjustment must be performed on a warm engine.

Before adjusting, make sure that (see photo):

• the air supply regulation cone of the heating sensor protrudes at least 9-10 mm (dimension "A");
• distance between the mixture enrichment lever and the mounting nut (size fuck) equals 4 mm;
• rod 1 touches stop 2.

Using the mixture quantity adjusting screw 3, set the crankshaft speed within 900±50 rpm. Adjust the carbon monoxide (CO) content in the exhaust gases using the mixture quality (composition) adjusting screw 4. If necessary, readjust the engine idle speed using screw 3.
