Any repairs to the fuel tank and filler neck must be carried out by a professional experienced in this critical and potentially dangerous job. Even after cleaning and flushing the fuel system, explosive vapors may remain and ignite during tank repairs.
If the fuel tank is removed from the vehicle, it must be located in an area inaccessible to sparks or open flames, which can ignite the vapors coming out of the tank. Be especially careful in garages where natural gas equipment is located, as the fuse can cause an explosion.
