Any repairs to the fuel tank and filler neck should be performed by a professional experienced in such critical and potentially dangerous work. Even after cleaning and flushing the fuel system, explosive vapors may remain and ignite during tank repairs.

If the fuel tank is removed from the vehicle, it should be located in an area away from sparks or open flames that could ignite escaping vapors. Be especially careful in garages where natural gas equipment is located, as the fuse could cause an explosion.
