Car trunk (BMW 5 Series E34)

Can only be opened or closed with a central locking key (with the anti-theft system turned off).

To ensure the safety of the trunk, the key is pulled out with the lock slot in a horizontal position. This disconnects the lock from the central locking system.



The trunk cannot be opened with a key - this is convenient if you need to leave the car with hotel or service station employees.

The trunk can be opened with the main key when the anti-theft system is on, and after closing the trunk will be protected by the anti-theft system again.

Trunk lighting

The light comes on when the trunk lid is opened.

The handle located to the left of the lock makes it easier to open the trunk lid.

Locking the trunk without a key*

Unlocking the trunk: turn the main key to the left.



Locking the trunk: Slam the trunk lid. The trunk will be locked without turning the key.

Please note: With this type of boot locking mechanism, it cannot be closed with the central lock and, accordingly, the central lock will not work when turning the boot lock.

Rear door locks for safe transportation of children

Move the locking lever located at the end of the door inward. After this, the door can only be opened from the outside.
