Power Steering — Checking Fluid Level (BMW 5 Series E34)

Without starting the engine, unscrew the tank cap, wipe the dipstick with a clean rag and reinsert it into the tank.

The fluid level should be between the two marks on the dipstick. If necessary, add ATF oil (consult at BMW service station).

Start the engine and, if necessary, add oil so that its level is between the marks.



Turn off the engine. The oil level may rise to 5 mm above the upper mark.

Close the tank cap tightly.
