Checking the oil level (BMW 5 Series E34)

The oil level should be checked regularly, for example, every time you fill up with fuel. The car should be parked on a level, horizontal surface.



The measurement result is most accurate if it is carried out on a cold engine before starting. If the engine was running, then it should be turned off and wait for some time (about 10 minutes), so that the oil flows into the crankcase.



Remove the dipstick, wipe it with a clean rag and insert it into the guide tube until it stops. The oil level should be between the two marks on the dipstick.
