Hood (BMW 5 Series E34)

Opening: Pull the handle located on the left side under the dashboard.

At the same time, with the help of a built-in mechanism with a spring, the hood moves forward and rises, after which it can be opened by lifting it upwards.

Closing: Press the hood simultaneously on both sides until you hear a clearly audible locking sound.

Pull the hood up to make sure it is securely latched.

Engine compartment lighting*



The lighting turns on when the hood is raised if the vehicle's exterior lighting is on.



Caution: Before performing any work in the engine compartment, stop the engine and allow it to cool.


Before working on electrical equipment, repairing or servicing, disconnect the negative (-) cable from the battery.
