Running in (BMW 5 Series E34)
The service life and economy of the vehicle are extended by following these guidelines:
Move by changing the engine speed and the speed of the car.
Do not allow the engine speed to exceed 4000 rpm.
Avoid driving with the throttle fully open and, accordingly, do not fully depress the accelerator pedal (avoid "Kick-down" mode).
At this stage, you can gradually (not immediately!) increase the speed and engine speed to maximum.
The running-in rules apply not only to the engine, but also to the rear axle gearbox.
If the engine or rear axle gearbox is replaced during subsequent operation, the vehicle should be used in accordance with the break-in rules.
During the running-in period, the parts are not yet worked in, so some difficulty may be observed when shifting gears, turning the steering wheel, etc. After some time, these phenomena should disappear.
