Left steering column switch (high beam and turn signal) (BMW 5 Series E34)

The switch has the following operating positions:

• 1 - High beam headlights (after switching on, the blue indicator lights up).
• 2 - High beam headlights signaling.
• 3 - Direction indicator (after switching on, the green indicator flashes and the relay clicks are heard).

Rapid flashing of the indicator lamp and clicking of the relay serve as a signal of a malfunction of one of the direction indicators.

After completing the turn, the turn signal switch automatically returns to the neutral position when the steering wheel is moved back (except in the case of a very slight turn of the steering wheel).

Unfixed inclusion of direction indicators

When overtaking, changing lanes, etc., lightly press the switch in the desired direction, without moving it beyond the point of increased resistance. In this case, if you release the lever switch, it will return to the neutral position itself.

Turn on the parking lights on the right or left

The parking lights only turn on when the steering wheel is locked. To turn on the parking lights on the right, lift the switch lever up (above the position for indicating the turn), left - move down (also passing the turn signal position).
