Windscreen wiper blade rubbers — replacement (BMW 7 Series E32)
Windscreen wiper blade rubbers need to be replaced if the glass is not cleaned properly. Both assembled blades and separate rubbers are available for sale. If only the rubbers are replaced, you need to make sure that the blade is not bent.
Raise the wiper arm slightly and hold it in this position.
Slide the slider and remove the wiper blade from the arm. On the closed side of the rubber, squeeze the two steel bars with pliers: pull it out of the upper bracket and pull the rubber together with the bars out of the steel brackets of the wiper blade.
First insert a new rubber band without fixing strips into the lower brackets of the brush.
Insert both strips into the first groove of the rubber band so that the notches of the strips are directed towards the rubber band and enter the rubber protrusions of the groove.
Use pliers to squeeze the two steel strips and the rubber band and insert them into the upper bracket so that the bracket protrusions on both sides enter the rubber band mounting grooves (arrows).
Place the blade onto the wiper arm and push the mounting bar back in.
Fold the wiper arm back toward the glass. Make sure the rubber is in contact with the glass along its entire length.
