Cardan transmission. General description (BMW 7 Series E32)

            0

The cardan transmission consists of two tubular shafts. The front shaft is connected to the gearbox by means of an elastic coupling or cardan joint. The shafts are connected to each other by a cardan joint and are attached to the bottom of the body by an intermediate support mounted on a rolling bearing. The rear cardan shaft is connected to the rear axle by a constant velocity ball joint or a cardan joint. In the latter case, the shafts are connected to each other by means of a cardan joint.
