Remove the gearbox. Remove the release bearing (1) from the gearbox input shaft. Disconnect the clutch release lever (4) from the spring clip (5) and remove it.
Check the release bearing by hand. To do this, press it lightly and twist it. It should rotate easily, otherwise it needs to be replaced.
Installation
Clean the clutch release lever and apply a thin layer of grease to the working surfaces (F).
If damaged, replace the spring clip (5) and ball pin (6).
Clean the guide sleeve (7). Do not lubricate it, otherwise the release bearing may seize on the guide sleeve.
Place the clutch release lever with the release bearing on the gearbox input shaft and secure them with a spring clip.
Clean the contact surfaces on the release bearing. Do not wash the bearing in gasoline. The contact surfaces (2) of the release bearing must fit against the contact surfaces (3) of the clutch release lever.
Install the gearbox.
