Removal and installation rear coil springs (BMW 3 Series E30)
Please note: Depending on the vehicle model, different coil springs with corresponding cups are installed.
When replacing, a new spring with the same BMW number, the same color marking and the corresponding spring cups must be installed.
Removal
Disconnect the exhaust system from the rear, lower it a little and tie it to the body with wire.
Release the rubber support of the differential gearbox, press it down and insert a wooden wedge from below.

Models 323i, 325e, 325m: remove the stabilizer.
Support the diagonal lever "4" with a jack "5", placing a wooden pad "6" underneath.

Caution: Do not damage the brake hose.
Lower the diagonal lever enough to allow the coil spring to be pulled out.
Caution: If the diagonal arm is lowered too much after removing the shock absorber, the constant velocity joints "3" of the axle shafts may be damaged.
Unscrew the shock absorber from the diagonal arm "7".
Pull out the spring.
Installation
Check the spring for external damage.
When replacing a spring, the spring cups are also replaced.
Insert the spring so that the ends of the spring coils enter the guides in the spring cups.
Slowly lift the diagonal lever with a jack until the spring is seated. Check the installation position of the spring again.
Tighten the lower shock absorber mount with a tightening torque of 90 Nm.
If removed, install a stabilizer.
Remove the wooden wedge and secure the differential gearbox support.
Connect the rear side of the exhaust system (see section "Removal and installation of the exhaust system").
Remove the jack and lower the vehicle.
