Check without removal
1. Place the shift lever in neutral position.
The operation of lifting and placing the vehicle on stands is dangerous! Therefore, before carrying out the operation, read Section Jacking and towing
2. Raise and place the vehicle on stands. Remove the lower cover of the engine compartment, refer to Section Removal and installation of the bottom cover of an impellent compartment.
3. Short-circuit the thick positive cable of terminal 30 and terminal 50 for the thin ignition switch cable at the starter with an auxiliary cable. The starter gear should click forward and the starter should start turning. If this does not happen, remove the starter and check in the removed state
Withdrawal
4. Remove the starter, refer to Section Removal and installation, starter check.
5. Repeat the test on the removed starter using the car battery. The starting cable is used as a wire to terminal 50 of the starter. If the gear moves forward, but the starter does not rotate, have the starter repaired at a service station.
6. If the gear does not extend, disconnect the traction relay and replace it.
Installation
7. Seal joint -F- of starter with sealant.
8. Connect the traction relay to a starter plug, then fix.
9. Secure the relay wire.
10. Check the starter again as described above.
11. Install the starter, refer to Section Removal and installation, starter check.
