Headlight adjustment — general information (BMW 3 Series E46)

1. Precise adjustment of the headlight beam requires special optical equipment. Therefore, it should be performed at dealers or at a car station with the appropriate equipment.

2. For reference, the headlight is adjusted by turning the adjusting screws located on its upper side (Fig. 8.2). The outer screw adjusts the beam direction in the horizontal plane, and the central screw adjusts the beam direction in the vertical plane.



3. Some models are equipped with an electrically operated headlamp beam adjustment system controlled by a switch mounted on the front panel. When adjusting the beam on these models, first make sure that the switch is in the "off" position.
