When the vehicle stops, the windshield wiper speed decreases.
As the speed increases, the glass cleaning intervals become shorter.
Some models are equipped with a driver-side wiper pressure control (ADV) system, which, depending on the speed of movement, increases the wiper pressure with four discrete pressure values, which prevents the wiper from moving away from the glass at high speeds and deteriorating the cleaning of the glass. Pressure switching thresholds: 5 km/h, 100 km/h, 140 km/h and 180 km/h.
A high-pressure headlight washer is installed as special equipment. When the washer and external lighting are turned on, each headlight is washed from a separate nozzle. For better cleaning, the water for the front glass washer is mixed with a cleaning concentrate from a separate tank.
Note: If the windshield wiper motor or switch fails, the control circuit automatically switches off the interval mode and the first speed of windshield cleaning. The same happens if the brush pressure control system fails. The blocking remains even after the failure has been eliminated. To remove the blocking of the windshield wiper motor and switch, turn off the ignition (terminals 15 and R) for at least 3 minutes. The ADV motor lock is automatically released during normal operation. You can also disconnect the battery for at least 30 seconds.
