Note 1. If the BEU memory contains fault codes, then when the battery is disconnected, they will be lost. Therefore, before disconnecting the battery, check for the presence of codes (if you cannot do it yourself, contact your dealer or specialist workshop). If your car is equipped with an anti-theft audio system, please read the Anti-theft audio section in the app first.
Note 2: After disconnecting and reconnecting the battery, perform the sunroof drive initialization procedure as described in Chapter 11, paragraph 22.
Withdrawal
1. The battery is located under a cover on the right side of the luggage compartment.
2. Open the trunk lid or tailgate and raise pop.
3. On models "sedan" And "coupe" turn the locks 90°counterclockwise and partially remove the left side trim panel. On the right side of the luggage compartment, slide the trim and unhook the battery cover (pic. 4.3, a, b). On the touring model, press the button and release the trim under the right window. Loosen the two nuts and remove the battery cover (pic. 4.3, in).
4. Loosen the tie bolt of the battery negative terminal and disconnect the wire (pic. 4.4, a, b).
5. Remove an insulating cover from the positive plug of the accumulator and disconnect a wire from the positive plug.
6. Loosen the clamping bar bolt, unscrew the bolts and remove the clamping bar from the battery (pic. 4.6).
7. Lift the battery and remove it from the luggage compartment. Disconnect the ventilation hose.
Installation
8. Install the battery in reverse order. After connecting the wires to the terminals, lubricate the terminals with lugs with petroleum jelly to protect them from corrosion. Connect the positive wire first, then the negative.
