- turn off the ignition;
- remove the trunk trim by holding the handle in the trim panel from above, move it down;
- remove the plastic protective cover;
- disconnect wire from «–» AB terminals;
- disconnect wire from «+» AB terminals;
- insulate with a cover «+» wire tip:
- unscrew the fixing bolt and nut on the AB holder;
- remove the holder and AB cover;
- move the battery inside the trunk and remove it from the holder;
- disconnect the ventilation hose at the leading edge of the battery (if available);
- raise the handles and remove the battery from the trunk.
AB installation should be carried out in the reverse order, while it is necessary to clean the AB poles with a metal (copper or brass) brush. Lubricate them with anti-corrosion and conductive grease for Ft 40v1 type tips from the company «Bosch».
Attention! Reverse connection sequence:
- connect wire with «+» tip to AB;
- connect wire with «–» tip to AB.
Install the AB so that its poles are located along the wing. The AB base must fit snugly into the tray. Monitor the cleanliness and reliability of the connection of the AB terminals with the tips of the on-board network. High contact resistance can overload electronic devices, especially during engine start-up.
Tighten the fixing bolts of the tips and the holder nut to a torque of 20 Nm (2.0 kgf·m).
