Rotor winding resistance at 200 C: 2.8–3.0 Ohm.
Resistance of the stator winding between phase terminals at 200 C: 0.10–0.11 Ohm.
The adjustable voltage limits at a rotor speed of 3000 min⁻¹ and a discharge current of 45 A, 12.5–14.5 V.
The height of the new brushes is 13 mm.
The minimum height of the brushes protruding from the brush holder is 8 mm.
Starters (Fig. 16.3) with a power of 1.4 kW to 2.2 kW, depending on the engine model, are installed on the engines, which provide the initial crankshaft rotation to a frequency of 300 – 350 min⁻¹, which allows the engine to start.

The Bosch DW starter has a step-down planetary gear. The armature shaft rotates in self-lubricating bushings. The starter flange is attached to the power unit with bolts. The operation of the traction relay must be checked in the following order. Prepare auxiliary wires and remove the starter from the power unit.
Apply +12 V from the battery to terminal "50" using an auxiliary wire. Short-circuit terminals "50" and "30" of the starter with the auxiliary wire; the drive gear should move forward sharply.
If the traction relay does not work, remove it and replace it with a new one.
