Checking and adjusting the opening and closing of the throttle valve of the 2nd chamber (BMW 5 Series E12)

Fully retract the throttle servo pushrod 1st chamber (see the relevant paragraph). In this case, the pneumatic drive of the throttle valve of the 2nd chamber must be under atmospheric pressure.

With the throttle valve of the 2nd chamber closed, measure the gap "Y" determining its opening, and the gap "Z" determining its closing (see photo), which should be 1.3-1.7 mm and 0.1-0.5 mm, respectively. The measurement is made at the place of the smallest gap. If there is a deviation from the norm, achieve the proper gaps by bending fork 1.
