Removal and installation the radiator grille (BMW 5 Series E28)

E28 models ("retro")

1. Loosen the screws and remove the central and side parts of the grille.

2. Install in reverse order.

E34 models (modern body)

Central grille

1. Loosen the screws and remove the headlight covers in the engine compartment to provide access.

2. Loosen the screw and remove the plastic cover behind the center grille to provide access to the clamps.



3. From the engine compartment, detach the center grille trim retaining clips located under the headlight housings, then push the grille forward.

4. Using a screwdriver, press the clips, detach the grille assembly and remove it by pulling it straight out.

5. Install the center grille by placing it in place and pushing it in until the clips snap into place.

Side grille

1. Remove the center grille.



2. Loosen the screws and pull out the side grille.

3. Install in reverse order.
