The brake light switch should be checked and, if necessary, adjusted after replacing or removing the master cylinder or vacuum booster.
The switch is located on a bracket at the top of the brake pedal. It turns on the brake light every time you press the pedal.
1. With the brake pedal in the disengaged position, measure the distance between the contact point of the switch on the brake pedal and the switch housing, then compare this value with dimension A given in Table of sizes and adjustment data at the end of the Guide. To adjust the brake light switch, loosen the locknuts (1) and screw or unscrew the switch (2) until the required distance A is reached.
2. If the measurement you received does not match the specified one, disconnect the wiring from the switch. Loosen the locknuts, then screw in or unscrew the circuit breaker until it matches the desired value and tighten the locknuts. Connect the wiring and check the operation of the switch.
