Adjusting the brake pedal (BMW 5 Series E28)

Measure the distance between the bottom edge of the brake pedal (i.e. the edge that is farthest from the bulkhead) and bulkhead A, and compare this value with the one given in Table of sizes and adjustment data at the end of the Manual. If these values do not match, loosen the lock nut (1) on the push rod and turn the push rod, holding the fork (3) still until they match.

On left-hand drive models, the adjustment is made on the left side of the cross shaft after removing the glove box, but the distance is still measured from the pedal.
