Examination
If the brake light does not come on, check the fuse first. Then check the lamps. If the lamps are in order, then you need to check the switch.
Remove the footwell trim (above the pedals).
Disconnect the plug from the brake light switch by pressing on the mounting tabs.
Turn on the ignition. Bridge the contacts in the connector for the brake light switch with a piece of wire. If the brake light does not illuminate, replace the brake light switch.
Withdrawal
Loosen the screws and remove the lower trim in the driver's footwell.
Remove the plug from the switch by pressing the fastening tabs.
Press the brake pedal. Pull out the pusher (1) and sleeve (2) all the way forward.
In this position, squeeze the mounting brackets and pull the circuit breaker back out of the mounting.
Installation
Insert the switch with the sleeve completely out into the workpiece support and snap it into place.
Slide the red mounting sleeve into the switch until the collar of the sleeve rests against the pedal support.
Put on the plug and secure it.
Check if the brake light comes on when the ignition is on.
Install the bottom trim.
