For further information on tyre care, please refer to Chapter Routine car maintenance.
All vehicles covered by this Manual are originally equipped with steel-belted radial tires. Using other sizes or types of tires may affect the ride and handling of the vehicle. Never use tires of different types and sizes on the same vehicle, as this may also seriously affect the vehicle's handling. It is recommended that two tires on one axle be replaced at a time, and if only one tire is replaced, make sure that they match in size, structure, and tread pattern.
Since tire pressure has a significant impact on vehicle wear and handling, it should be checked in all tires at least once a month and before any long trip (see chapter Routine car maintenance).
Wheels should be replaced if they are bent, damaged, leaking air, or otherwise damaged.
Wheel and tire balance is important for the handling, braking, and proper operation of the entire vehicle. Unbalanced wheels can adversely affect the handling and performance of the vehicle, as well as the service life of the tires. Each time a tire is replaced on a wheel, the wheels and tires should be balanced in a specially equipped workshop.
