Removal

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

If your vehicle's radio is equipped with an anti-theft system, make sure you enter the correct code before disconnecting the battery.

If the instrument cluster displays the wrong language after connecting the battery, refer to Section Anti-theft audio system and instrument cluster language, which describes the procedure for installing the required language.

2. Remove the center console (see chapter Body).

3. Remove the radio receiver (see chapter On-board electrical equipment system), then remove the handles from the heater and air conditioner control levers.

4. Remove the trim frame and lift the control unit out of the instrument panel. This will allow you to disconnect the control wires from the control lever assembly.

5. Disconnect the wires from the clips holding them to the lever assembly, marking them first for proper connection.

6. Disconnect the electrical connector from the control unit.

7. Loosen the screws securing the frame to the control unit and remove the control unit.
