If your car's radio is equipped with an anti-theft system, make sure you have entered the correct code before disconnecting the battery.
If, after connecting the battery, the inscriptions on the instrument panel appear in the wrong language, refer to Section Anti-theft audio system and instrument panel language, for instructions on how to set the desired language.
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Drain the cooling system (see chapter Car maintenance).
3. Remove the center console (see chapter Body). Cover the floor mats in the front of the cabin with an old blanket; this will protect them from stains if any coolant spills.
Withdrawal
1. Disconnect the temperature sensor electrical connectors.
2. Remove the straps holding the wiring to the shroud and move the wiring aside.
3. Open the cover fasteners.
4. Give screws of fastening of a cover and remove a cover.
5. Disconnect all union connections of the heater lines from the heat exchanger. Be careful as this may spill some coolant.
6. First lift the right side of the heat exchanger and remove it.
Installation
Always use new O-rings when connecting coolant hoses to the heater heat exchanger.
Install in reverse order. Fill the cooling system (see chapter Car maintenance), then start the engine with the heater on and check for heater operation and leaks.
