Removal and installation the air conditioner blower motor (E28 / «retro» models) (BMW 5 Series E28)

Please refer to Section Removal, operation check and installation of the heater and air conditioner for information on E34 models with a modern body.

If your vehicle's radio is equipped with an anti-theft system, make sure you enter the correct code before disconnecting the battery.

If the instrument cluster displays the wrong language after connecting the battery, refer to Section Anti-theft audio system and instrument cluster language, which describes the procedure for installing the required language.

Removal

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Remove the center console (see chapter Body).

3. Disconnect the blower motor electrical connector from the motor.

4. Unbolt the blower motor mounts from the main housing.

5. Remove the air conditioner blower motor assembly. You can check the motor operation by following the procedure described in Section Removal, operation check and installation of the heater and air conditioner.

Installation

Install in reverse order
